This polygonal table explores craft traditions and the characteristics of low diameter wood. The table’s design uses graphic accents, such as transparent colors and a printed pattern, to represent contemporary design being superimposed on traditional craft techniques. The series of tables includes five styles, each with its own combination of color, height, and diameter.
Inspired by the traditional Japanese wood joint technique yatoi-sanetsugi, the barrel-like base consists of individual laths that have been connected at intricate angles to create a round, tapered form.
The plain version of the table comes in naturally whitened chestnut wood.
